Position Summary: Western Seminary is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Pastoral Ministry. The successful candidate will be a member of Western’s Center for Ministry and Leadership Studies (CMLS) and will be located at the Seminary’s Portland campus.

Responsibilities: The primary duties will be to teach Ministry and Leadership, Pastoral Theology, and other core, master’s level courses and electives. The individual will participate actively in the department (CMLS) and the Seminary community at large. This will include such responsibilities as mentoring students, engaging in research and scholarship, and serving on faculty committees.

Qualifications

Education: Completed MDiv and  appropriate doctoral degree (ABD candidates considered)

Experience: Demonstrated experience and skill in local church ministry and leadership, teaching both in the classroom and online, as well as evidence of scholarly contributions, student mentorship, and irenic collegial interaction

Character and Commitments: Mature and growing Christian faith, agreement with Western Seminary’s Faculty Teaching Position, and involvement in and commitment to the local church

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
